I have a Sony MP3 player and a friend gave me an i-tunes gift card. How can I get songs from i-tunes that will play on my MP3 player?
Please Note: The SparkExchange is closing up shop. We decided to start SparkExchange as an experiment back in February 2010. Since that time, StackExchange (upon which SparkExchange is built) has made some changes. So, as of July 13, 2010, this site will no longer exist. Thanks to everyone who tried this experiment out with us. If you're looking for a larger (but similar) community, try Super User.

iTunes thankfully sells songs in mp3 format now by default, so you should be able to purchase and download and then load them into whatever software you use to sync your device. As far as I know, iTunes still only syncs with Apple players so you'll have to go through that extra step. |

So that you're not surprised by what you're buying from iTunes, what you'll end up getting are actually m4a files. Sony MP3 players, at least the ones on the the Sony Canada site, will play these (AAC is the name of the encoder used to create m4a files, in case you're not seeing m4a anywhere). |
